as an employee owned practice, we are proud to have an employee representative on our board of trustees. we firmly believe in the power of collaboration - not only when working with project teams but also in the way that we operate day to day. since bpr became employee owned in 2015, lizzie dodwell, project architect, has been our employee representative. at the end of her term of office we asked lizzie how she feels the role has added to the culture of the practice.
"the role of employee representative provides all of us as bpr's employees, with a forum through which we can voice our opinions about the day to day management of the practice. the role helps to empower employees as part of the business by valuing our input and participation.” taking over from lizzie is james kearns – architectural assistant – he was voted by the team to take up the position which he will hold until 2019. james explains why he put himself forward to represent his colleagues on the board. “it’s a fantastic opportunity to play an active part in maximising employee engagement, and to express my colleagues' ideas which will so directly contribute to the management and culture of the practice.”.
